A catch-all email mailbox receives email messages sent to nonexistent email addresses under the same domain. For instance, an email message sent to the miswritten suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. In this way, you can receive email messages from mates or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a typo or to an out-of-date one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Only one mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for such a mailbox. This is so because of the fact that at a certain moment you may start receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation implies that the spam will not be re-sent to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Website Hosting

In case you have a Linux website hosting with us and you’d like to enable the catch-all feature for a given email mailbox that you have in the account, it will take literally only one single mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to do that. A catch-all button is available next to each email address that you have set up under any domain hosted in your account. You can pick one single email address per domain by clicking on the corresponding button. This will enable the feature straight away, so all emails sent to mistyped email addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking the button once more will deactivate the catch-all feature. If you’ve got enabled email forwarding, our system will show a cautionary message and you won’t be able to enable the catch-all feature unless you remove the forwarding or you can simply choose a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The custom-developed Hepsia Control Panel that comes with every semi-dedicated server package that we are offering will permit you to set up a catch-all email mailbox without effort even in case you do not have much email/web hosting experience. All it takes to accomplish that is to click on the catch-all icon, which will be on the right side of each mailbox that you have set up with your domain names in the hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section. Since you can have just one single mailbox with this feature per domain name, our system will let you know if you’ve already created another catch-all mailbox or if the one that you want to use has email forwarding activated. In case you reach the decision that you do not want this feature any longer, you can remove it by clicking again on the same icon. The Email Manager section will also allow you to view your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
